Prashant Bajaj, who was seen in Jaat and now will be seen in Coal King, says though earlier he would question his choice of career, with time he has realized the importance of accepting failures just like success.
Prashant Bajaj on rejections
He said, “I once auditioned for a role I was extremely excited about and thought I nailed it. I didn’t get a callback, and it crushed me. I started questioning whether I was cut out for this. But over time, I realized I can’t let one missed opportunity define my journey. Rejections have become part of the process now—they hurt, but they also teach.”
His dream role would be to play a layered, grey character in a powerful, emotionally driven story. He said, “Something that allows me to explore vulnerability, rage, love, and loss all in one. I’m drawn to characters that aren’t one-dimensional and challenge me to dig deeper into myself.”
Prashant wants to reach a point in his career where people trust him with strong, meaningful roles. He added, “Where my presence in a film or show guarantees emotional depth and honesty. Awards are great, but for me, the real goal is to earn respect from the audience and my peers—to be remembered as someone who gave everything to the craft.”
He also shared that he would love to work with directors like Neeraj Ghaywan or Zoya Akhtar. “As for actors, sharing screen space with someone like Manoj Bajpayee or Shefali Shah would be an absolute masterclass. Their intensity and realism are something I really admire,” he ended.
