During the show, Ranveer Singh revealed that he had met a few friends of Deepika whom she termed as family. Further, he shares when Deepika whispered in his ears and said, “Listen I’m gonna tell them now. And I was like ‘don’t’. Don’t even think of it.” He added, “Then, suddenly, absolutely out of nowhere, she was like ‘you know he proposed marriage to me and I said yes.” He also said, “I got into their room in their Bangalore home and I put my ear to the door and outside Amma and Deepika are having it out. She’s saying, ‘who is this guy? He proposed marriage and you said yes also?’ And I was like please God help me. Then it took a lot of work on my part to place myself in Amma’s heart and now I think I’m one of her favorite people in the whole world.”

Ranveer created a ‘safe space’ for Deepika

For a while, Deepika Padukone has been vocal about battling depression. During the episode, Deepika revealed that she first faced a tough time back in 2014 and she had been on medication for a while . She also said that Ranveer Singh has created a safe space for her. When Ranveer had realized the seriousness of her depression, Ranveer said he had to call her family back to Mumbai. Deepika also revealed that she didn’t want to live before she started receiving professional medical help.
