A classic TV show is making a big comeback – Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2. The show has created a lot of buzz, especially because it marks the return of Smriti Irani to acting after many years. She will once again play the iconic role of Tulsi Virani. Amar Upadhyay will also return as Mihir Virani, bringing back the beloved on-screen pair. Fans are thrilled to see these familiar faces again in the new season.
Amar Upadhyay On Reunion Meet With Smriti Irani
Amar talked about meeting Smriti after many years. Speaking to TOI, he said, “When I met her at Ekta Kapoor’s house, it felt like no time had passed. We were just the same. She joked, ‘Tu boodha kab hoga?’ and I said, ‘Abhi time hai’ (laughs). She’s always been grounded, and that hasn’t changed one bit. Our interaction was exactly how it used to be 25 years ago.”
In the show’s first season, Mihir’s character was killed off early, but due to public demand, he came back. Later, after a time leap in the story, Amar left the show. But now, he says Mihir will stay until the final episode of Season 2.
There were rumours that the second season would have a new cast, and older actors would just appear in small roles. However, Amar confirmed that his character, Mihir, will be there throughout the season.
As for the release date, the makers have not made an official announcement yet. But reports say that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 will start airing on Star Plus on July 3, 2025. Interestingly, the first season also began on July 3, back in 2000. Still, fans are waiting for a formal confirmation.
Everyone is looking forward to seeing Tulsi and Mihir together again on screen after so many years.
