In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, when asked if it ever posed as a hinder the label of being a TV actor. To which, Helly said, “Yeah, not all the time but a few times for sure. I have a couple of friends who are casting or so I would ask them I would like to call and just understand and I’m okay to start from scratch because I personally feel that television is my comfort zone. I’m very comfortable with it I know people, I know almost everybody, people know me but in this medium, I don’t know anybody or maybe. I know but thoda time lagega. It goes like aapne bohot zyada television kiya hai (It goes like you have done a lot of Television shows). The kind of exposure is massive. Kahi baar aisa hota hai ki tumne bohot achhi series karri hai but ek television actor ko bohot log nahi jaante hai bhale wo show zyada successful raha ho. (Even though you have done a good show but due to being a TV actor, it is said that many people might not know you despite the show being successful) So, it has happened.

When asked if the audience is much more forgiving than the industry of this label. Helly replied a yes. She also thinks that one needs a lot of patience to actually make it big in the industry. She said, “I think you need a lot of patience. In Television, you almost shoot 25 to 30 days. Aapko aadat hoti hai roz kaam karne ki (you’re used to working every day) and then one fine day, you take a decision and you don’t work, you don’t go to a set it’s difficult. Initially lagta hai but I personally feel that some people just lose their cool some don’t you have to be aware, and conscious in a way.

In this same interview, Helly Shah also spoke about her journey into showbiz, starting work as a teenager, facing rejections, dealing with nasty media reports and realising her fandom.
