EXCLUSIVE: Hina Khan and Shaheer Sheikh on what ‘rain’ mean to them

Hina Khan and Shaheer Sheikh’s new music video titled Baarish Ban Jaana released on June 3. In the video song, both were soaked in love and their chemistry was to the point. Fans were eagerly waiting for the song to release and the song’s teaser and BTS increased their excitement level. Now, as the song has finally released, fans are going crazy as they can’t enough of Hina and Shaheer. The song was shot in Kashmir before the lockdown happened. The romantic song has been crooned by Payal Dev and Stebin Ben.

We had an interview with Hina, Shaheer, Payal and Stebin after the release of Baarish Ban Jaana’s teaser. When we asked about the response they got from their near and dear ones, Shaheer said, “I wasn’t expecting such a good response that they instantly loved the song as well as the chemistry. I was surprised honestly in a pleasant way. The music did the trick. It was beautiful.” Hina added that the Kashmiri connect also worked (Both Hina and Shaheer are Kashmiris).

“It has been a very long time I have been hearing that people did want us to do something together and finally when we did it, people have really liked the pair. They liked the teaser as well. Overall, they liked the freshness they wanted to see and people are appreciating us as a couple and they want to see more of us together,” said Hina.

When asked both Hina and Shaheer, what does ‘love’ signifies and what ‘baarish” symbolizes for them. To which Shaheer said, “I think we all Indians romanticize rain. For us, it’s not just rain. It is a lot more than that. It’s poetic for us.” Hina added, “Most of us signify rain as romance, romantic weather. But for me, it’s that a moment and it can be anything and that’s not just related to rain. For me, it’s a lot more than romance. It reminds me of pakodas (she laughs).”
