Karan Patel is a well-known TV star thanks to his portrayal of Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. The actor recently courted controversy when his statement over the Salman Khan-hosted show Bigg Boss being ‘dirty’ went viral. For those who don’t know, Karan – who hasn’t been part of the controversial reality show, recently criticised the makers for taking influencers as contestants made the headlines.

His statement, ”It’s become such a dirty, disrespectful show to even be associated with,” went viral on social media earning him major flak. The actor has now taken to social media to clarify what he said following the brutal social media trolling.

A while ago, Karan Patel took to his Instagram Stories and shared a lengthy note clarifying his ‘dirty’ statement on Bigg Boss. The story read, “To finally put an end to all the uncalled-for reactions to a statement that I did not even make in the first place.” It further says, “When asked about Bigg Boss, I said the show has become far more lenient over the last few years and there is no limit to how low someone can go to character assassinate someone.”

The lengthy story saw Karan Patel further writing, “Salman Bhai has always requested the contestants, week after week to mind their words as it’s a family show, and sometimes the episodes get so dirty that viewing it in the company of family members becomes shamefully awkward, and that’s the context I meant ‘dirty’ in, and not in any connection to the channel, the broadcaster, or the host. I have immense respect for all of them. Having said that, I still stand by my words about having zero tolerance for any kind of character assassination of anyone on any show.” He concluded the post by stating, “Media, stick to being the medium and not the source for news.”
