Actor and host Karan Wahi was subjected to massive trolling on social media following his comments on the Naga Babas taking a dip in the Ganga in Kumbh Mela. Amidst the second wave of Coronavirus, many Naga Babas attended Kumbh Mela to take a holy dip in the Ganga. This has apparently also led to a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases across Haridwar.

Pictures of the Babas have gone viral all over the internet and reacting to them, Karan took to his Instagram stories and wrote, “Isn’t there a Work From Home culture for Naga Babas? Like get water from Ganga and take a shower at home #justcurious #kumbhmela(sic).

Well, this did not go down well for a section of the netizens as Karan started receiving death threats and abuse for his remark. Karan was even asked to take down his story. Karan then shared another post on his Instagram stories reacting to the abuse and wrote, “So I have received messages, abusive content, even death threats already. Wow, people of India, if being a Hindu is to turn a blind eye on COVID protocols not being followed then a lot of you first need to read what being a Hindu is.”
