Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Smriti Irani’s Show Is Coming To An End? Makers Release Statement

Over the last couple of days, reports have been surfacing regarding Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 and the Smriti Irani-led show coming to an end. As per the rumour mills, the show is on its way to being shut down and will be replaced by a spin-off show. But are these reports true? Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Makers Clarify Off-Air Reports

Taking to their Instagram handle, Star Plus shared an official note reading, “We have noticed some media reports that are circulating stating that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 is shutting down and getting replaced with Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badallte Hain. We would like to state that these reports are baseless; we are not shutting down Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 and there is no end date for the show as yet.”

Several fans took to the comment section of the post and shared their thoughts on the show not going off the air. Recently, the show’s lead actress also made a comment about the show being replaced by a spin-off show. She was quoted saying, “May want to check PR content with authorities that have IP rights. I am not associated with any other show except Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. No spin-off program is authorised for my engagement legally, which entitles use of my image and/or personality. Do check so that viewers are not misinformed.”

The daily drama – a sequel and reboot of the iconic 2000s show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, premiered on July 29, 2025 on StarPlus and JioHotstar. The saga sees Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay reprise their roles as Tulsi and Mihir Virani from the OG show. It also stars Rohit Suchanti, Tanisha Mehta, Shagun Sharma and Aman Gandhi as second-generation characters.

Aside from the above-mentioned characters, the show also stars Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Ritu Seth, Ketaki Dave, and Komolika Guhathakurta from the OG show. The new cast also includes Tanisha Mehta, Prachi Singh, and Ankit Bhatia.

The show – which was rebooted after 17 long years, also featured a cameo from billionaire Bill Gates.
