After ‘Mahabharat’ ends, Nitish Bharadwaj’s ‘Vishnu Puran’ is getting aired as per a report in SpotboyE. ‘Vishnu Puran’ starred Nitish Bharadwaj as Vishnu and Vaidehi Amrute as Lakshmi. The show went on-air in 2000. After ‘Ramayan’ ended on DD National, it was replaced by Ramanand Sagar show, ‘Shri Krishna’.

DD National also earlier tweeted that ‘Vishnu Puran’ will soon be aired. The tweet read: “भगवान विष्णु के महिमा की कथा धारवाहिक “विष्णुपुराण” जल्द आ रहा है DD Bharati पर।
#VishnuPuran”(sic).

‘Vishnu Puran’ also featured Ravi Kishan, Vindu Dara Singh, Shweta Tiwari, Shruti Ulfat, Sudha Chandran, Kinshuk Vaidya and Nimai Bali among others.

‘Vishnu Puran’ is based on the book of the same name and it shows the stories of 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. It was directed by Ravi Chopra and produced by BR Chopra.

In March, a nationwide lockdown was announced by the government of India to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus. To keep the public entertained, the Information and Broadcasting ministry decided to bring back old Doordarshan shows. Shows like ‘Ramayan’, ‘Mahabharat’, ‘Chanakya’, ‘Shaktiman’, ‘Circus’, among others, were re-run and these shows managed to get a good response from the audience; specially the mythological shows got more viewership.

We hope ‘Vishnu Puran’ will also be as hit as ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Mahabharat’.
