Rajeshwari Sachdev on being Covid-19 positive: You have to be mentally strong in this situation
Last month Rajeshwari Sachdev tested Covid-19 positive and she quarantined herself at home. But even during the quarantine, she started shooting from her home for her show ‘Shaadi Mubarak’. Rajeshwari believes that we have to accept the new normal following the safety measures. A few days back while she was under home quarantine, we called her and asked her about her experience of being Covid-19 positive and shooting from home.
She said, “The thing is you have to move on. Pehle hum sambhal rahe the ki Covid-19 positive na hoh. Aur kahi immunity low ho gayi toh pakad liya. Abhi pakad liya toh pakad liya. The next best thing is to isolate to safeguard the others around you. Then you come to know you are Covid-19 positive. Now, that you are positive, quarantine is the next thing.”
She added, “After I step out in the world I have to be careful because my immunity will be low. Kaam toh karna hi hain as the show has gone on air but will take all the safety precautions and try my best to keep the immunity high.”
Talking about her quarantine period, Rajeshwari said, “It’s not that 14 days you are going to take rest. It’s not like that. Because you are fighting not only physically but mentally. You read lots of things in the news and become doctors and get the fear. You have to be mentally strong and in this situation, if you have your family, that’s the biggest support. It has been quite a journey from being really ill and then to realise that there is a lot of people around you and you will be fine. From doctors, family, to my friends, everyone is supporting me.”

For all who have been asking how I have been shooting from home. Well during quarantine I was on my own with the husband handing me his camera and guiding me on video calls. Then came the post quarantine, where I utilised his all in one services including giving actors cues. Varun after having shot for #MDKD during the day would come home and help me keep my professional commitments . We do not do it just for each other, We do it coz this is what we know to do and love to do. Demanding or not, but we enjoyed every moment through it all… soon it will be back to the sets and my co- kalaakaars at #ShaadiMubarak Cheers!! @badolavarun 😊
A week back, Rajeshwari shared a video where she was going for the first day of shoot post quarantine. Her husband Varun Badola was driving her to the location.
