Rashami Desai is definitely a name in the industry which needs no introduction; with the work, she has done, the actress has definitely cemented her position in the industry. However, the pretty actress has also experienced depression. While speaking to Bollywood Bubble exclusively Rashami talks about how difficult it was for her to deal with the whole situation and how she chose to not speak about it. She says, ”There was a time when I did not like anything, regardless of what it was, happening around me. I used to be sad all the time. I was basically half-dead and nothing used to get registered to me. I used to be silent and dealt with it on my own. I just couldn’t speak to people.”

So what helped you to come out from this? “Definitely my work. There was a time when I had chosen not to work but soon after, I decided it is better if I go back to work. I told myself that I need to work hard to get things in life. It really took 8 long years to get a new me and I am very happy about it.”

Rashami also adds, “I have taken help for my depression and my councillor used to tell me that time is the greatest healer. I used to think about when and how and I going to get over this because time is already flying. But I proved myself wrong and everything got fixed. One more important lesson I have learnt from this time is that you need to be communicative. One should speak to sort out the problems. So I prefer to always talk it out and speak with someone when I am struggling. It is better than making perceptions and assumptions on my own. ”

Rashami was also replaced in a show in her career which also took a toll on her mental health. Speaking about that, she says, ”I was replaced in a reality show. At that point in time, I thought that I had hit the rock bottom and I need to come out from this. I was just sitting quietly and people used to laugh at me. That was the time when I was just leading a joker’s life as I was imitating someone else. Only a few people were with me at the toughest phase of my life.”

In the conversation, Rashami also pointed out an important feature as whenever an actor from television goes for a film audition how they are being judged. She says, ”I am an actor how someone can tag me as a tv actor. I am here to act and I am limitless. You just cannot judge me with the screen characters I have played on the camera.”
