Ridhima Pandit lost her mother, Jayshree, on April 4 after she was diagnosed with COVID 19 a few days before her demise. She also suffered from kidney issues before that and was undergoing dialysis, revealed Ridhima in an interview with TOI. Ridhima Pandit opened up on how Sonu Sood stepped up to help her with her mother-related issues once she knew she needs medical attention immediately. “Everything was in chaos after she tested positive because of other comorbidities. Before I got into acting, I had worked with Sonu (Sood) as his manager at one point. So, when I realised that I might have to admit my mother to a hospital, I requested him to help me with it,” Ridhima Pandit told TOI.

Ridhima added that despite timely medical treatment received, her mother couldn’t survive. She shared how the first five days were difficult for her and she is still unable to come to terms with the loss. “The loss is irreparable and I can’t describe my grief in words,” she emotionally added and shared that her sister, Reema, has been a huge support throughout this. She revealed that her mother was the dearest to her and the world revolved around her.

“For her, I was always a kid. Of course, the role reversed in the last five years… I became a mother to her, taking care of her. She pulled through those terrible five years only for me. I am going through bouts of happiness and sadness. Sometimes, I cry profusely, and other times, I laugh remembering our funny banter,” Ridhima recounted.

Ridhima Pandi also added that now her focus is only on work as that is exactly what her mother expected her to do. She narrated a chat with her mom where she pushed her to take up a project and not lose faith in herself.
