Becoming a star is one thing and remaining a star in the entertainment industry is a whole another task. The struggle from one job to another project seems like years and you are considered lucky if you are never out of work as an actor. When we sat down for a candid chat with Naagin actress Sayantani Ghosh who is one of the known faces on television, she took revealed to have gone through bad financial crisis in life where she had to sell her home.

Sayantani told Bollywood Bubble, “Right now, my show just wrapped up, so I told my friends I’m a little down, anyways when your show wraps up you feel a little dull. This year especially began on a bag note for me. First I got Covid and then I got to know that my show is wrapping up. So I was talking to my friends but they were like ‘You chill, tujhe toh dusra show mil jaayega. You are very blessed’ Of course, I have immense gratitude for what God has given me but I have also seen in close-quarters that if my friends are saying this, what will the rest of the fraternity be saying.

Ghosh said, “It is not like that though, behind getting a show there is a lot of permutation and combinations, struggles. I always say that struggle is a very relative word. Where I have left, I cannot go below that, so there are struggles.”

The Naagin star further opened up about going through horrible financial crisis, “There was this entire span of one and a half years where I was completely out of work. So I have had my own struggle story. I was a girl who came from Kolkata and till I turned 24, Naagin happened people took notice that this girl is there. Now we see because of the inception of social media we see everybody can dance and do their makeup. All in all the industry took notice of me that there is a girl from Bengal she has come and in two years I was on a high. I had my own vehicle, I had my own house and on paper, I had three more houses. Cut to, within one and half years I had to move to a rented apartment because that was the bad time I saw, had to sell off everything because Naagin, unfortunately, wrapped up. The industry then behaved in a different way than it behaves now, then if you have done an X show, they say we can’t imagine you in another character just yet. So there was downtime between shows.”
