In a heartbreaking incident, two young brothers — Veer Sharma, aged 10, and Shaurya Sharma, aged 15 — lost their lives in a fire at their home in Kota, Rajasthan, early on Sunday morning. Veer was a child actor, and both boys were sleeping alone in their fourth-floor apartment when the fire started.
Tragic Fire In Kota Claims The Lives Of Two Brothers
According to reports, the fire broke out in the drawing room but did not spread to other parts of the house. Sadly, the thick smoke filled the apartment and caused both boys to die from suffocation while they were asleep.
Neighbours saw smoke coming out of the house and quickly rushed to help. They broke open the main door and tried to rescue the children. The boys were taken to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
At the time of the fire, their father, Jitendra Sharma, was attending a religious bhajan event, and their mother, Rita Sharma — an actress — was in Mumbai for work.
Police believe the fire may have started due to a short circuit in the drawing room. SP Tejeshwani Goutam said the entire drawing room was burned, and other rooms had signs of damage as well. An FIR has been filed under Section 194 of the BNSS Act, and a full investigation is ongoing.
The bodies of the two boys have been handed over to the family. This tragic event has left the community in shock, especially as Veer was a rising child actor. The incident highlights the importance of fire safety, especially when children are left home alone.
