Shefali Jariwala, best known for her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video “Kaanta Laga,” tragically passed away on June 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 42. While the post-mortem report has not been publicly released, reports suggested that her death may have been linked to the unsupervised use of anti-ageing medications taken on an empty stomach.
Parag Tyagi DISMISSES Shefali Jariwali’s Rumours Of Taking Anti-Ageing Medicines
Months later, her husband, Parag Tyagi, addressed these rumours during an interview on the YouTube channel Shefali Parag Tyagi. He refuted claims about the anti-ageing medicines, saying, “This is half-baked information. I want to ask, which of these were anti-ageing medicines? Shefali didn’t want to take multivitamins daily because she would forget, so she took them through IV drip once a month. These included multivitamins, Vitamin C, collagen, and glutathione, which is one of the best antioxidants.”

Despite this, speculation around her death grew after Mumbai Police and forensic experts found glutathione injections, Vitamin C shots, and acidity pills. These findings raised questions about the prolonged and unsupervised use of such treatments. In response, Parag clarified, “We took those medicines, and she took that on that day. It wasn’t that she didn’t eat that day. She was fasting, but she ate after doing Pooja and then slept; when she woke up, she ate again. At night, he came to give her that…”
He further added, “What anti-ageing are people talking about? She didn’t look her age because of the hard work behind it. She controlled her diet, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t eat. She could easily have a half-kilogram ice cream pack, but of course, we worked out after that. We had ice cream at least twice a week, and every Sunday, she’d indulge in Chinese food or something else. She never deprived herself of anything. I don’t know where this fasting story came from. I think someone said it, and people just ran with it. I urge people to get to the truth before speaking.”
Regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, sources revealed that Shefali was brought to Cooper Hospital around 11:15 pm on June 27, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Initial findings indicated that her death was likely caused by “low blood pressure, cardiac arrest, and heavy gastric conditions.”
