The controversy dates back to a promotional event for the song Saiya Seva Kare held in Lucknow last year. During the event, Pawan Singh allegedly touched Anjali Raghav’s waist on stage without her consent.

What Did Pawan Singh Do?

Following the incident, Anjali filed a complaint with the Haryana State Commission for Women, claiming that the act made her uncomfortable and that videos of the moment were later circulated without her approval, which she says damaged her reputation. She also demanded strict action in the matter.

Taking the complaint seriously, the Commission issued notices to both Pawan Singh and Anjali Raghav. It has now directed them to appear for a public hearing in Faridabad on April 2, where officials will record their statements and decide the next course of action based on the findings.

Earlier, when clips from the event went viral, Anjali took to Instagram and expressed her distress. She said she felt “disturbed” by the incident and added that she would “not work in the Bhojpuri industry anymore.”

Responding to the allegations, Pawan Singh issued an apology, stating, “Mera aapke prati koi bhi ghalat intention nahi tha kyuki humlog kalakaar hai. Iske bawajood, agar aapko humari kisi bhi vyawahaar se taqleef huyi ho toh uske liye main shama prarthi hoon.”

As the case heads toward a formal hearing, the controversy continues to raise questions around on-stage conduct, consent, and accountability within the entertainment industry.
