As India turns ‘Gold’ today, sports legends share their ‘Feeling of Gold’
Celebrating 70 years of free India’s first Gold, Excel Entertainment who is all set to present the upcoming sports drama ‘Gold’, brought together the biggest sports legends in the nation to share their feeling of Gold.
India is turning Gold today to celebrate the first ever Gold medal won by the nation in 1948. Marking the iconic victory, sports legends like Kapil Dev, P.R. Sreejesh, Sunil Chhetri, Sania Mirza, Abhinav Bindra, Vijender Singh, Deepak Mallik, P.V. Sindhu, Balbir Singh and Sachin Tendulkar.
All the sports personalities in unison resonated with the patriotic feeling as they shared the pride and happiness of witnessing the tricolour flying high after winning Gold. Sports legends across games like cricket, hockey, football, shooting, boxing, tennis, badminton amongst others shared their feeling of Gold in the special video.
Interestingly Balbir Singh, who was one amongst the ones who formed the legendary team winning India’s first Gold, also opened up about his experience. The hockey player shared, “After winning the gold medal, it felt like as our flag is flying high, I am soaring with it too.”
Also celebrating the victory, iconic landmarks across the nation would be turning Gold today. Twitter India too has been extending its support to the film by introducing Gold emoji. Cab service Ola too is celebrating the iconic victory by turning Gold as India celebrates 70 years of the victory.
‘Gold’ revolves around a man who dreams to win free India’s first Gold in Hockey and his struggles to form a team to make his dreams true.
The trailer evoked the inner patriotism of the audience with the heart-tugging trailer. Recently, the makers shared another trailer for the IMAX format showcasing the importance of unity within the team.
India won its first Gold medal as an independent nation at the Olympics on the 12th of August 1948. Celebrating this historic occasion, the makers are all set to release the film on the 15th of August this year.
The film has been shot across the UK and India, capturing the fascinating aspects of the pre-independent era.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, ‘Gold’ promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast. ‘Gold’ is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on the 15th August 2018.
