What surprised us the most is the news of Amitabh Bachchan playing a transgender woman in the movie. In the original one, Sarath Kumar played the role of a transgender woman as Kanchana.  A source informed Deccan Chronicle that, “Big B will be portraying the role of a trans-woman in the Bollywood remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil horror comedy ‘Kanchana- Muni 2’. He will be reprising the role of Sarath Kumar, who played the critically acclaimed part in the Tamil version”.

However, confirmation about senior Bachchan’s role in this film has not been made official yet. The Hindi remake of ‘Kanchana’ remains a much-anticipated film as Akshay Kumar is back to the horror-comedy genre.

The film is being helmed by Raghava Lawrence, who is set to mark his Bollywood debut as a director. Reportedly, he is making a lot of changes in the script as per the requirement for Bollywood audience.
