Bhumi Pednekkar To Reunite With Akshay Kumar After 4 Years In Priyadarshan’s Next- Report

After Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Raksha Bandhan, Bhumi Pednekkar and Akshay Kumar are once more set to star opposite each other. As per a recent report, filmmaker Priyadarshan confirmed Pednekkar casting opposite Kumar in his upcoming film. Read on to know what we know about the project.

Bhumi Pednekkar, Akshay Kumar To Star Opposite Each Other In Priyadarshan’s Next

Priyadarshan confirmed Bhumi Pednekkar as the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar while interacting with Hindustan Times. As per multiple reports, the upcoming untitled film is a comedy-thriller set in the 1970s. The flick will also star Rajpal Yadav as a pivotal character.

According to reports, Priyadarshan’s film is expected to go on floors in the last week of November. The project will likely be filmed over three months mostly in Rajasthan, Mumbai, and Bhopal.

Bhumi-Akshay Box Office History

Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar have previously shared screen space in Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Raksha Bandhan. While the 2017 emerged as a superhit at the box office, the 2022 family failed to have the same reception. It failed to impressed the critics and even underperformed at the box office.

Akshay-Priyadarshan Collabs

This upcoming untitled project will be Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s ninth film together. The duo have previously worked together in films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, Khatta Meetha, Bhooth Bangla, and Haiwaan. The last film – co-starring Saif Ali Khan, released earlier this year.
