Deepika Padukone

There has been much curiosity and anticipation over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming project ‘Padmavati’. The movie has been in the news owing to various controversies and the much guarded look of the main leads. Finally, the first look of Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati or Padmini was released by the makers and the actors on social media a few days back.

Deepika looked regal on the poster, dressed like a Maharani with folded hands. While, we were only introduced to two pictures of the actress in the garb of Padmavati, it seems like a few more pictures have made their way on the internet unknowingly. Sporting a unibrow, the actress looks enchanting. Talking about the movie, this is the third time that the actress has collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as she has been a part of ‘Goliyon Ki Ras Leela Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, both of which catapulted her to the top spot in B-Town. So, she could get a third time lucky with this project. Also, this is the third time that Ranveer Singh (her rumoured beau) is also collaborating with SLB and Deepika for a film.

He essays the role of Alauddin Khilji in the movie which also stars Shahid Kapoor in the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Well, the movie which was earlier slated to release on November 17 has been pushed to December 1 this year. The reason being that the makers need some more time to prepare for the film as they were met with severe opposition from Shri Rajput Karni Sena who are still of the opinion that if the movie distorts historical facts, then they will stall the screening of the movie.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for this one.
