She is also looking up all available material (photographs/videos) on the internet about Laxmi to thoroughly research her life. In fact, Laxmi herself has been very supportive, even sharing material on her journey that is not available anywhere else or is not yet out in the public domain. Deepika was also provided DVDs and pen drives, containing material about 10 survivors, by the makers of the project. The actor is making sure that every detail is in place.”

When it comes to work, Deepika is very hardworking and it is reflected in her works. Earlier, she has given a stellar performance in movies like ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Piku’ among others.

As per a report in Mid-Day, Meghna Gulzar (who is directing the movie) had said that she will arrange a meeting between Deepika and Laxmi before the shoot starts.

Vikrant Massey will be playing Deepika’s on-screen partner Alok Dixit who is Laxmi’s real-life partner. Alok is the founder of the Stop Acid Attacks campaign.
