10 years imprisonment for Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

The verdict in the rape case involving self-proclaimed miracle man, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan is finally out. The CBI court has sentenced Dera Sacha Sauda chief to 10 years in jail for rape. However, CBI is looking to push for more than ten years sentence for Ram Rahim Singh. A medical examination is being done post which he will be provided with a jail uniform and a cell in Rohtak jail.

For the uninitiated, Gurmeet Ram Rahim was accused of raping female devotees and threatening them to stay silent. He was even accused of threatening them that if they ever speak up, he would kill their family members. Apart from that, he has also been accused of killing ex-manager Fakir Chand. Then, he has also been charged for ordering mass castration of 400 male devotees. Some of them have come out in the open and spoken about it. Recently, singer Mika Singh lent his support with a tweet. Now, with the final verdict being out, it remains to be seen how his followers react. The vandalism caused by them has already claimed the lives of many people in Punjab, leaving many others injured. The curfew has affected the shooting of Alia Bhatt’s next film ‘Raazi’ which was taking place in Patiala.
