Filmmaker Karan Johar owes his career to ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'(KKHH), a love triangle, that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol in lead roles. The iconic film has completed 20 years, so naturally, it made the filmmaker nostalgic.

Commenting on how things would have been for Rahul and Anjali, 20-years later, Johar revealed something very amusing to PTI. Talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s character Rahul, the director said, “Rahul was a bit of a fraud anyway. He used to say ‘we love once, marry once’ but did it twice. In my head, I hope the marriage works, but it must have been a tough marriage. I hope the little Anjali (Sana Saeed) isn’t messed up, because at eight she was loaded with so much information.”

Karan took to Instagram and posted a poster of the film alongside the caption, “Can’t believe it’s been #20yearsofKKHH! A film that gave me love , acceptance and a career….will always be eternally grateful to @iamsrk @kajol #rani@beingsalmankhan for indulging a 25 year old boy with stars in his eyes!!! Thank you for all the love”

The director also shared his experience of shooting since it was his debut film. Karan revealed that Shah Rukh asked him to start shooting the film with a song. “Farah did the songs and Shah Rukh said, I should supervise it. Then I got confidence. Now I always tell first-time directors to start with a song because the atmosphere is fun and light so you can settle with your characters and then start your film,” Johar reminisced.

Karan admitted how much confidence this film gave him as a filmmaker. He told DNA, “I owe everything in my career to ‘KKHH’. After its release, I knew I had a job that I could keep (laughs). I was like, ‘Chalo, they won’t throw me out of the industry now. I’ll be able to make more films and create more cinema memories.'”

Well, it still hasn’t sunk that ‘KKHH’ has completed 20 years! However, as an audience, we would love to have a reunion of this film’s stellar cast. Don’t you guys feel the same?
