kareena kapoor, ranveer singh, 22 years of kabhi khushi kabhie gham

It was 22 years ago that Karan Johar gave Bollywood one of its most iconic characters in the form of Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. A typical Queen Bee, the character became a cultural phenomenon. Kareena Kapoor, who played this iconic role in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, revisited her as the film completes 22 years, and the celebration became more special with Ranveer Singh aka Rocky Randhawa’s surprise appearance.

Kareena Kapoor celebrates 22 years of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Taking to social media, Kareena celebrated one of her most iconic roles in the ‘Poo’ way itself. The actress shared a collection of some of the most amazing Poo moments from K3G. From her intro scene to her prom ‘swayamvar’, the memories had it all. It also reminded of Poo’s amazing fashion sense at that time. Along with it, Kareena wrote, “22 years and still going strong.”

While the nostalgia of Poo itself was quite enjoyable, it was Ranveer who made it all the more special. The actor played the flamboyant and eclectic Rocky Randhawa in Karan’s latest directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Using that persona, he came in to say hi to Poo in the comments. Taking a cue from Rocky’s famous dialogue, he said, “Hi babez. Rocky Randhawa this side.”

Both Poo and Rocky have quite similar eclectic personalities. And it is sure that they will get together like a house on fire. With both Poo and Rocky being a part of Karan’s creation, it would surely be great to see them meet in Karan’s film universe. Interestingly, while Ranveer and Kareena have never yet worked together, they came quite close twice. Kareena was supposed to star in both Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Dil Dhadakne Do. But she ended up opting out of both the films.

Meanwhile, K3G still continues to be one of the most loved films in Indian cinematic history. It featured one of the biggest casting coup at that time. The film had Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena come together. K3G taught us all that ‘it’s all about loving your family’.
