The fan meet was slated at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (GUFE) on Monday. The university didn’t know about it and the event was canceled as the organizers didn’t seek permission on the same. As quoted by IANS, “The message was spread only among a small group of students through social media. The school only knew about it when students talked about the event hours before it was about to take place.”

Many students waited for hours outside the venue and they were really disappointed when the event was canceled. A student named Swim Xinzhu from GUFE said, “It is obviously the organizer’s fault for not applying to the school to use an on-campus building.” Also, an employee of the varsity said, “We have held similar events before and there would be no issue if the organizer had reported in advance.”

Later on, the fan meet was held at Four Seasons Hotel and it ended at around 11 p.m. on Monday night.
