Aamir Khan Opens Up On Staying Away From Junaid Khan’s Film Choices

Aamir Khan recently revealed that he consciously stays away from interfering in his elder son Junaid Khan’s professional journey, allowing him to build his career independently. During a conversation with Kapil Sharma, Aamir spoke about how Junaid chose to carve his own path in the industry without relying on his father’s influence. He highlighted that Junaid trained rigorously, auditioned on his own, and worked his way up without revealing his background.

Talking about the same, Aamir said, “No, I don’t read Junaid’s scripts. He doesn’t even want me to interfere in his career. He went to Los Angeles to learn theatre. He studied there for two years and did plays for a year. Then he came back and started a theatre in Bombay. He used to go to auditions for casting directors. At that time, no one knew that he was my son. He didn’t tell anyone, and I didn’t tell anyone either.”

Aamir Khan Reveals Learning About Junaid’s Debut Through Aditya Chopra

Aamir further shared how he came to know about Junaid’s debut film through Aditya Chopra. “One day, I got a call from Aditya Chopra. He said that he is taking Junaid in a film, ‘Maharaj’. I got to know about this film from the outside. He did a good job. So he made his own career. Actually, to be honest, as a father, he didn’t let me do anything. He never took anything from me. I have told him many times to buy a car.”

Opening up about his bond with his children, Aamir added, “It’s a very odd thing that I always hug my kids. Like we are sitting at home, on the sofa or on the bed. So I hug Ira, Junaid and Azad closely. When he was small, it was easy, and now he is 6 feet 2 inches. But even today, when I hug him closely and keep his head on my chest. I can’t even tell you how much peace I feel.”

About Junaid’s Latest Project Ek Din

Junaid was recently seen sharing screen space with Sai Pallavi in Ek Din, which marks a reunion between Aamir Khan and filmmaker Mansoor Khan. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. It is currently running in theatres.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Bubble, in its review, wrote, “An official adaptation of the 2016 Thai romance One Day, Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s Ek Din fails to create the magic the Chantavit Dhanasevi, Nittha Jirayungyurn-starrer did a decade ago. While the music is great and touches the audience’s souls, the creepiness of Junaid’s character is a big turn-off. Watch it in theatres only if you are a huge Sai fan, else wait till it releases on OTT.”
