Abhay Deol has been taking digs and jibes with his posts recently on social media. He has been speaking about the ills of the film and television industry quite often and has raised his voice for some of the most pertinent topics. The latest post of his also calls out for filmmakers to make a movie like his ‘Shanghai’ with its base revolving around the ills of Bollywood.

Abhay took to his Instagram to share a poster of his 2012 release, ‘Shanghai’. Have a look at the post right here:

Along with the poster, Abhay wrote, ““Shanghai”, released in 2012. A contemporary Indian take on the Greek novel “Z” by author Vassilis Vassilikos. Directed by Dibakar Banerji this film puts systemic corruption in politics front and center, with devastating impact. Extremely relevant today. Looks like these days one could make a film about the corrupt practices of Bollywood! By the way, not sure if the current outrage will give rise to an independent Hindi film and music industry, without the unoriginal tag of “Bollywood”, but it sure feels good to hear loud voices from within the industry, risking their careers for the bigger “picture” (pun intended ?). (@priyasreedharan we gotta make another movie! What’s Wasim Khan’s Instagram handle?). #makingwhatbollywouldnt (sic).

The current scenario in Bollywood has brought forth some of the ills of the movie-making business. From nepotism to movie mafia to music mafia, everyone has been exposed by someone or the other. Abhay Deol, too, has spoken up about the same in his posts. We wish his posts get the right audience, and cumulatively they are able to bring forth a positive change in the film and television industry.
