Previously, reports indicated that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had removed Deepika Padukone from the film Spirit due to her request for eight-hour workdays. Just a few days ago, it was also reported that Deepika had been ousted from Vanga’s Spirit. Now, according to the latest information, there are suggestions that Deepika Padukone might also be removed from Prabhas’ Kalki 2.
After Spirit, Deepika Padukone To Exit Kalki 2?
An Instagram page called Bollywood.mobi claimed that Deepika Padukone’s desire for shorter working hours after becoming a mother is causing “friction on set.” As a result, the producers of Kalki 2 are reportedly considering either reducing her role or removing her altogether. However, there has been no official confirmation on this matter.
Earlier, it was also reported that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had removed Deepika from Spirit due to disagreements over her demands. It included eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film’s profits. Vanga reportedly felt her demands did not align with his vision. As a new mother, Deepika is said to be trying to balance her personal life with her professional commitments, seeking to reduce her working hours.
Sandeep Reddy Vanaga’s Tweet
Vanga also addressed the issue publicly via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, criticising Deepika for what he called ‘dirty PR games.’ He stated, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unspoken NDA between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘disclosed’ the person you are… Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work into my craft, and filmmaking is everything to me. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You never will.” He further added, “Aisa karo… Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jara bhi farak nahi padta. #dirtyPRgames.” He concluded with the saying, “Khudak mein billi khamba naoche!”
Following Deepika’s departure, it was confirmed that Triptii Dimri will be cast in Vanga’s Spirit. The actress previously worked in Vanga’s Animal. She announced her role as the female lead through a social media post.
