Actor Prakash Raj is reportedly no longer associated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated film Spirit, headlined by Prabhas. The project, which also features Triptii Dimri and Vivek Oberoi, has been in the spotlight for frequent casting updates, including Deepika Padukone’s exit.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Prakash Raj will no longer be part of the film, although the makers have not officially announced either his exit or a replacement. On Friday, the makers unveiled a new character poster introducing Vivek Oberoi in Spirit. The announcement on social media tagged the principal cast, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and key technicians. However, Prakash Raj’s name was noticeably absent from the list, triggering fresh speculation about his involvement. A source confirmed to Hindustan Times that the actor has exited the project. At present, the makers have not clarified who will step in as his replacement.

Earlier this month, rumours about his departure had already begun circulating online. However, the actor had strongly dismissed those claims at the time.

Addressing the speculation on X (formerly Twitter), Prakash Raj had written, “To all the toxic #Fakenews peddlers…. On #Spirit the movie. We have not even started shooting for my scenes .. and you whatsup factories speculate stories. Grow up and have a life. #justasking.”

Despite his earlier clarification, fresh reports now reveal that he has indeed stepped away from the project. The reasons behind the development remain unclear, and neither the production team nor the actor has issued a new statement.

Spirit, touted as an action-heavy entertainer, remains one of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s most awaited films, especially after the massive attention around his previous directorial ventures. With Prabhas leading the film, expectations around the project continue to stay high as the makers proceed with casting adjustments. The film is slated to realese on 5 March, 2027.
