Singer Mika Singh recently performed at an event in Karachi, Pakistan. Reports suggest that Mika performed at a wedding of former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf’s relative on August 8. This created a huge uproar on social media and netizens slammed the singer. On Tuesday (August 13), All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) banned him from the Indian film industry.

As reported by ANI, AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta stated in his statement, “AICWA takes a stand of boycotting all his association with movie production houses, music companies and online music content providers.”

The statement further stated, “AICWA will make sure that no one in India works with Mika Singh and if anyone does, they will face legal consequences in the court of law. When the tension between the countries is at the peak, Mika Singh puts money above the nation’s pride.”

The video of Mika Singh performing on songs like ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ and ‘Aankh Mare’ went viral followed by flak by the Twitter users.

Pakistani journalist, Naila Inayat took to her Twitter handle to share the video clip of Mika’s performance. She wrote, “Happy that Indian singer Mika Singh performed at the mehndi of Gen Musharraf’s relative recently in Karachi. God forbid if it was Nawaz Sharif’s relative it would be raining ghadari k hashtag already.”

What angered the people that just after the Indian government’s decision to remove Article 370 from the constitution, Mika performed in Pakistan.  Pakistan banned Indian films and content in their theatres post the government decision to remove the special status from Jammu & Kashmir.
