Singer and composer Mika Singh has come out in support of Ranveer Singh amid the ongoing Don 3 controversy and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees’ (FWICE) non-cooperation directive against the actor. Notably, FWICE later clarified that the move was not an official ban, as the organisation does not possess the authority to ban any actor from the industry. Scroll on to know what Mika had to say about the controversy.
Mika Singh Supports Ranveer Singh Amid FWICE Row
The clarification came days after FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh during a press conference linked to the Don 3 dispute with Excel Entertainment. While several reports initially described the move as a ‘ban,’ FWICE’s chief advisor later clarified that the federation can only issue directives and cannot officially ban any actor.
Reacting to the situation, Mika Singh publicly extended support to Ranveer and revealed that he plans to personally speak to FWICE officials regarding the matter. As per Viral Bhayani, Mika said, “Ranveer Singh is such a good and down-to-earth person. I know FWICE very well, and I’ll personally meet them and talk to them. After all, we are the bhais…”
Mika Singh’s FWICE Ban
Interestingly, Mika Singh himself had faced a temporary FWICE ban in 2019. The singer landed in controversy after performing at a wedding in Karachi, Pakistan, reportedly linked to a close associate of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf during a period of heightened geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan.
However, the ban remained short-lived. Mika later approached the federation, apologised, and clarified his side of the story. Following his explanation, FWICE revoked the directive against him.
Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 Controversy
Ranveer Singh was officially announced as the new Don in 2023, taking over the iconic role previously played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. However, reports later claimed that the actor exited the film due to creative differences with the makers.
According to multiple reports, Excel Entertainment sought compensation of Rs 45 crore from Ranveer over alleged financial losses caused by the delays and fallout surrounding the project. After the matter escalated, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly approached FWICE, following which the federation issued the non-cooperation directive on May 26.
Several celebrities, including Mika Singh, Manoj Bajpayee, Chunky Pandey, and Shobhaa De, have since spoken in support of Ranveer amid the controversy. On the work front, Ranveer Singh recently received praise for his performance in Dhurandhar. He also has Pralay lined up, which reportedly goes on floors in August 2026 despite the ongoing controversy.
