Milan Luthria had directed ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ which had Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. And now, after five years Ajay and Emraan will be once again seen on the big screen together in Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’.

According to a leading daily, Emraan’s role was first offered to Diljit Dosanjh, but the actor opted out of the film. A source stated, “Diljit showed interest in the role of the army officer but then at the time of signing the contract, he quoted a fabulous sum as his fee. Actors use the big fat fee excuse to worm their way out of films. After ‘Udta Punjab’, he only wants to do meaty roles in Hindi films. In his next ‘Phillauri’, he will woo Anushka Sharma. Diljit now feels it’s better to go with solo leads rather than risk being lost in the big cast.”

The Milan Luthria directorial is inspired by real-life events during the Emergency and revolves around stolen gold.

Ajay plays the role of a thief, Vidyut Jammwal will be seen as an undercover cop, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character is said to be inspired by Maharani Gayatri Devi and Emraan plays an army officer in the movie.
