These days, it seems like period dramas are the current flavour of Bollywood. Every big banner is either making a costume drama or has already started working on one. A few months back, even Ajay Devgn had announced his period drama ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’. The versatile actor had treated the audience with a first look poster of the film.

If recent reports are to be believed, then Ajay Devgn wants Saif Ali Khan to be a part of this project. However, Saif is not keen on doing two hero films. It’s also being reported that Ajay had a very tough time in trying to get Saif on board. A report in Deccan Chronicle suggests that Ajay personally spoke to Saif assuring him that he will have a strong role in ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’.

A source close to the development was quoted saying in the daily as, “It took Saif a long time to agree to be a supporting actor. After ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, he had vowed to never do a two-hero film in which he would have a weaker role. But Ajay has personally assured him that he will have a strong author-backed role.”

However, with no confirmation from Saif Ali Khan or Ajay Devgn, it has to be seen if they really come together for this period drama. Earlier, the two terrific actors have shared screen space in films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kachche Dhaage’.
