Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter that ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ will hit the silver screens on 14th of August 2020. So Ajay’s film has booked the Independence Day weekend for its release.

You can check Taran’s tweet below:

Vijay Karnik was the incharge of the Bhuj airport(Gujarat) during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Karnik, along with 50 Air Force and 60 defence security officers, played an important role in keeping the airbase operational even after facing heavy bombing from Pakistan.

Talking about the film’s subject, producer Bhushan Kumar had told Times of India, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”
