Every week we have several films lined up for release. However, with so many films being churned out by our filmmakers in a year, it’s inevitable that some of the big-budget films clash at the ticket window. Next year we will have two of the biggest stars of Bollywood- Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan clashing at the box office.

Now we all know that Aamir always releases his films during Christmas. In fact on his 53rd birthday this year, Aamir announced his next film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ will be coming in the cinemas in Christmas 2020. Directed by Advait Chandan, ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ is Hindi adaptation of Tom Hank’s ‘Forrest Gump’.

So recently when Akshay Kumar announced his film ‘Bachchan Pandey’ (a remake of Tamil film) hitting the silver screens in Christmas next year, several eyebrows were raised. As that would make for the biggest clash of the year, given the popularity of both the superstars.

While Aamir is yet to react to this impending clash with Akshay, the latter recently opened up about the same. Reasoning out how people should be for having two big releases in a week, Khiladi Kumar told Mumbai Mirror, “We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there are the South industry and other regional cinema.”

The ‘Mission Mangal’ actor further added, “So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, (‘Mission Mangal’, ‘Batla House’, and ‘Saaho’) till one bowed out.”

Now let’s see if ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ actually clashes or one of them bows out. Until then you guys stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
