Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in ‘Gold’ which is set to release on 15th August along with John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

Akshay Kumar recently took to Twitter and put up a Stylish monochrome picture and wrote ” My most interesting onscreen character coming to you on 15th August. #8DaysToGo ”

In ‘Gold’, Akshay plays the role of a hockey coach who trains team India to win its first gold medal as a free nation at 1948 Olympics in field hockey. From the film’s trailer and songs, Tapan Das come across as a diligent but funny man, However, Akshay Kumar said, “Tapan is not a goofy or humorous character, it is his quirks that makes the scene funny.”

Sharing details about Tapan’s character’s inspiration, director Reema Kagti said, “The person who inspired his character is very controversial, alcoholic, unpopular and argumentative but at the same time he knows the game really well.”

The upcoming sports drama ‘Gold‘ starring Akshay Kumar releases this Independence Day being the perfect Independence day release as it marks 70 years of Free India’s first Gold medal at the 1948 Olympics.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, ‘Gold’ promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast.

‘Gold’ is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release in 8 days on the 15th August 2018.
