Actor Akshay Kumar has tested Covid-19 positive for the second time. It was earlier in April 2021, he had tested positive for Coronavirus during Ram Setu movie shoot. The Bachchhan Paandey actor took to his social media handle to inform everyone. Akshay who was supposed to attend the Cannes Film Festival won’t be able to appear at the red carpet. The festival begins on May 17.

Sharing the news of being Covid-19 positive, Akshay wrote on Twitter, “Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there (sic).”

In April 2021, he was diagnosed with Covid. He had tweeted, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon.”

On the work front, Akshay will be seen in Prithviraj with Manushi Chhillar. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is releasing on June 3. Akki is playing the titular role of King Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty.
