The dynamics between Bollywood stars and the paparazzi have always been complex. While some celebrities willingly stop for photos, others prefer to keep their privacy intact. Akshay Kumar recently shared his honest perspective on pap culture. He pointed out that photographers earn their livelihood through celebrity pictures, so there’s no reason to oppose it.
Akshay Kumar REACTS To Pap Culture
In an interview with India Today, Akshay explained why he doesn’t mind being clicked, whether during work or with his family. “Ek photographer ko kariban 3.5–4k milte hain. Aur agar usko milte hain, toh mere liye kya problem honi chahiye? Meri sherwani mein kya pareshaani honi chahiye ki main khada ho ke photo le lu? (A photographer earns around Rs 3,500–4,000 for taking my photo. If they’re earning that, why should I have a problem? What’s the issue in just standing there in my sherwani and letting them take a picture?)”
Akshay added, “Main photo leke, uss bichare ka ghar chal jayega, woh khush ho jayega, aur saari photo le jayega, toh isme koi burai nahi hai. Privacy kya naam ki? Agar aap bahar nikal gaye ho bacchon aur biwi ke saath, toh kis baat ki privacy?” (There’s nothing wrong with it. If you step out in public with your children and wife, then what privacy are you worried about?)”
During the same discussion, Akshay was asked if he considers being clicked an occupational hazard. He responded, “It is not a hazard… Agar koi photo nahi lega toh sabse zyada hazard hoga… Woh problem zyada hai.” (It’s not a hazard… If no one takes a photo, that’s the real hazard. That’s the bigger problem.)
Akshay Kumar’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Akshay will reunite with Priyadarshan for Bhooth Bangla, which also stars Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, and others. He also has Welcome To The Jungle in the pipeline, along with Golmaal 5, which is set to begin shooting soon.
