Akshay kumar child abuse

Akshay Kumar is one of those celebs who have always been associated with social causes. He has started martial arts institutes for women, and recently at a seminar on Women’s safety, he narrated an incident, and encouraged children and women to speak up against abuse and seek help. The actor revealed that he was a victim of child abuse himself.

A leading tabloid has reported that Akshay stated, “When I was six, I was on my way to a neighbour’s house when the lift man touched my butt. I was really agitated and told my father (Hari Om Bhatia) about it. He filed a police complaint. Investigations revealed that the lift-man was a history-sheeter. The cops took action and the man was arrested. I was a shy kid and was relieved that I could speak about this to my parents. But even today, I find it difficult to say the word `bum’. We must encourage women and children to speak up and tell their families if they encounter anything strange so that they can be protected and empowered.”

Well, this incident has surely come as a surprise for everyone. (Also Read: Akshay reacts on the issue of glorifying stalking in a song from ‘TEPK’)

When it comes to films, Akshay will next be seen in ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ which is slated to release on August 11, 2014. Few days ago, a few scenes of the movie were leaked online, recently at the press conference Akki spoke about it. He said, “Piracy nahi hui, galat baat hai, Crime Branch ne kuch hone se pehle hi use pakad liya tha. (There has been no piracy. Before anything could be published online, the Crime Branch stopped it) Nothing is there online, I would thank the Crime Branch for it.”

Talking about the issue of piracy, he said, “The fight against piracy is critical and it’s reassuring to see the swift action taken by the Crime Branch on the unfortunate incident involving our film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. I would like to urge my friends, colleagues, fans and audiences to please say no to piracy. Thank you for all your support.”
