Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia HOSPITALISED; actor returns to Mumbai from the UK

Actor Akshay Kumar has been shooting for his forthcoming film, Cinderella in London for the past few weeks. However, the actor had to rush back to India after hearing about his mother Aruna Bhatia’s health. As per the reports, the actor’s mother is reportedly in critical condition and has been admitted to Mumbai’s Hiranandani hospital. As the actor’s mother was admitted to the ICU, Akshay quickly returned to Mumbai, leaving the shoot midway in London, to be beside his ailing mother. He was captured by shutterbugs in the wee hours of the morning on Monday.

According to a source quoted by Hindustan Times, “The actor’s mom has been unwell for a few days and is in the ICU at Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital. Akshay is extremely attached to his mother and could not stay away from her while she’s not well, so he decided to fly back to India in a sudden decision.” The source further adds, “Even as he has flown back to be with mom, he has told his producers to carry on shooting with scenes that do not require his presence. All other work commitments of his also continue. He has always believed that work must go on, despite any personal challenges.”

Speaking about his film, Cinderella, in an interview, Akshay revealed that the story is a psycho-thriller and quipped that he is not playing the role of Cinderella.

Meanwhile, on Mother’s day, Akshay had taken to his Instagram account and shared an endearing picture of his mother and backed it with, “Maa warga koi nahi #MothersDay”.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is one of the busy stars currently. The actor is swarmed with some incredible movies that have piqued everyone’s interest. He will be starring in Raksha Bandhan, Bachchan Pandey, Atrangi Re, Oh My God 2, Prithviraj, Ram Setu. His Sooryavanshi with Katrina Kaif is yet to hit the big screens while his Bell Bottom was the first one to release in the theatres post the lockdown.
