According to sources, Senior Jail authorities who were getting their photographs snapped with the actor angered government officials and they put an end to the play. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Amitabh Rajan, government sources say, felt that the photograph “glorified” a prisoner convicted in the 1993 blasts case.

Therefore they had cancelled the play. The play, titled ‘Teemiratun…Tejakade (From Darkness to Light), was supposed to feature 20 prisoners apart from the 54-year-old star. It was planned for Thursday at Bal Gandharva Auditorium in Pune, with Home Minister R R Patil to attend.
