Anil Kapoor on late Sushma Swaraj: Some leaders you never meet but feel a connection to

We recently lost former Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj. She was also a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. Her death shook the entire nation. Leaders from all over the world poured in their tributes for the veteran leader who was also known as the Iron lady of India.

Bollywood celebrities too offered their heartfelt condolences after Swaraj passed away due to a heart attack on Tuesday. Anil Kapoor, at a recent event, remembered the late politician and expressed his sorrow on her demise.

Speaking at an event, Anil said, “We lost her very early. I’ve admired her from far. There are some leaders with whom you’ve never met but feel a connection with. You know that whatever that person is doing, she is doing it for the nation. She was someone I really looked up to.”

The ‘Taal’ actor further added, “She touched so many hearts and so many people, not only in India but all over the world, therefore, I guess the whole world is mourning the loss.” He also hoped that other leaders follow her legacy.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai too added, “I wish there were more women like Sushma ji, who can take this country forward. Of course, it’s a big loss and we all feel the pain.”

Her death has left a void which no one would ever be able to fill.
