Veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away due to heart attack in Delhi two days ago. The entire industry, his closed ones and fans are mourning his demise. Anupam Kher, who was his best friend, visited Kolkata’s Kalighat Temple to pray for Satish Kaushik. The actor shared a video on his Instagram and gave a glimpse of his temple visit.
Anupam Kher visits Kalighat Temple
Anupam wore a red kurta with a red tika on his forehead and garlands around his neck. In the video, Anupam can be heard saying, “Aaj main Kalighat Temple mein Ma Kali ke darshan ke liya aya. Sab bhakto se mulakat ki aur sabke liye prathna ki. Mere dost Satish Kaushik ke aatma ki shanti ke liye prathna ki (I have come to Kalighat Temple today to seek blessings from Goddess Kali. I have met devotees here and prayed for everyone, including my friend Satish Kaushik’s departed soul)”
The actor shared the video and wrote, “आज कोलकाता के महान कालीघाट मंदिर में माँ काली के दर्शन करके मन कृतार्थ हुआ।देश की अखंडता और आप सबके लिए प्रार्थना की।मेरे दोस्त सतीश कौशिक की आत्मा की शांति के लिए भी प्रार्थना की।देश के मंदिरों का इतिहास अद्भुत है! जय माँ काली! #KaliGhatTemple #MaKali (Today, I felt grateful to seek blessings of Maa Kali in Kolkata’s great Kalighat temple. Prayed for the integrity of the country and all of you. Prayed for the peace of soul of my friend Satish Kaushik. The history of temples in the country is amazing! Hail mother Goddess Kali!”
Satish Kaushik was 67 years old. The actor’s funeral was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, and Shehnaaz Gill among others. Anupam Kher was also present at the funeral. A video of him breaking down into tears had gone viral on social media.
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Satish Kaushik’s manager revealed that at around 12:00, he was facing difficulty in breathing and was rushed to the hospital. When asked what were his last words, Santosh said, “He held me and said, ‘Mujhe Vanshika ke liye jeena hai. Mujhe lagta hai main nahi bachunga. Shashi aur Vanshika ka khayal rakhna‘” (I want to live for my daughter. I think I won’t survive. Take care of Shashi and Vanshika)”
