According to a report in PinkVilla, the ‘Sui Dhaaga’ actress is playing a differently-abled character called Aafia Yousufzai and to familiarise herself with the role, Anushka got a wheelchair at home for about a month.

A source closed to the development said, “Anushka had a wheelchair at home for about a month. She wanted to internalise Aafia and be perfectly comfortable playing her. Every dialogue, every emotion, everything that Anushka has in the film is on a wheelchair.”

”For Anushka, the wheelchair needed to become a part of herself and she could have only done that by actually becoming Aafia in real life and do everything while being on a wheelchair. This was a process of metamorphosis for her and she moved around in her house, practised her scenes on a wheelchair.”

To Anushka’s great credit, she has done a very good job in maintaining sensitivity for the part. ‘Zero’ talks about how there is no shame in having imperfections and how you deal with obstacles is a big lesson. If we see the trailer, it makes you a little bit teary-eyed and Anushka has really nailed the role.

‘Zero’ also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The film is being helmed by ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fame Aanand L Rai.

‘Zero’ is releasing on December 21, 2018.
