Anushka Sharma to make her Cannes Film Festival debut, here’s what we know

Anushka Sharma is one of the most loved actresses of Bollywood. The Chakda Xpress actress enjoys a great fan following worldwide. Now, Anushka’s fans can rejoice as she is set to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival. Anushka Sharma will take part at an event to honour women in cinema along with Kate Winslet at Cannes 2023. French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, shared the news on Twitter on Thursday.

Emmanuel shared a photo with Anushka and Virat Kohli on Twitter. He wrote, “A pleasure meeting @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma! I wished Virat & #TeamIndia all the best for the upcoming tournaments, and discussed Anushka’s trip to #CannesFilmFestival.”

In the picture, Anushka is dressed in a blue shirt and black pants. On the other hand, Virat looks dapper in brown shirt and black pants. Reacting to the Twitter post, a fan dropped a comment saying, “Can’t wait for it @AnushkaSharma.” Another one commented, “wowwwww.” “Power couple for a reason,” wrote a fan. Another fan commented, “KING & THE QUEEN.” Going by the reactions, fans can’t wait for Anushka to make her Cannes debut.

The 76^th edition of the film festival will take place from May 16 to May 27, 2023. This year, Indian films Kennedy and Agra will be screened at the prestigious film festival. As we know, previously actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Sharmila Tagore have served on the jury for the event.

On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Hina Khan, and Aditi Rao Hydari are among few actresses who have walked the red carpet.

Talking about Anushka’s work front, she will be seen in the Netflix film Chakda Xpress. The upcoming project is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The makers are yet to announce the film’s release date.
