For 2019, there are three artists who have been nominated for different categories at the Grammy Awards. London-based Prashant Mistry, New York-based Falguni Shah and US-based Satnam Kaur have been shortlisted.

AR Rahman won two Grammy Awards in 2010, under the category Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for Visual Media for the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and the track ‘Jai Ho’ respectively.  Apart from this, the music maestro has also won two Academy Awards, one BAFTA award and a Golden Globe Award.

Recently, AR Rahman was in the news for his daughter Khatija, who donned a burqa during the celebration of 10 years of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
