'Half Girlfriend' delayed

Filmmaker Mohit Suri has been riding high on the continuous successes received through his few earlier releases. The director who was gearing up to shoot his latest project Half Girlfriend‘ soon is facing some problems now. The movie which is an adaptation of a novel by the same name written by Chetan Bhagat is getting postponed.

According to sources, the film which stars a fresh pairing of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor was planned to go on floors by the month end of February. But apparently this first schedule of the shoot has been pushed ahead with a gap of three months. The reason for this is the mismatch combined dates of both lead stars.

Sources say, “First, the makers grappled with casting issues and now that the lead pair has been locked, date issues are haunting them. Arjun and Shraddha are not available together on the required dates, and so, it will take longer for the film to roll. In all probability, the team of ‘Half Girlfriend’ will start shooting in May.”

This is not the first time that this project has been facing difficulties. After facing delays while locking the lead cast, this push is certainly a disappointment for all the fans out there.

“The makers won’t be able to go ahead with the shoot by the end of this month, but they have secured the lead pair’s dates in May. The pre-production work is already underway,” added the source.

Aman Gill, CEO, Balaji Telefilms said, “We have locked our actors’ dates and our shoot schedule is being planned accordingly. Until then the actors are doing workshops and basketball training to get into character for the film.”

We shall soon be back with more updates on this.
