The last few years were not that great for Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and his last film ‘Namaste England’ proved to be a disaster. Turning his back on the failures, Arjun Kapoor is currently busy shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Panipat’.

It is to be noted that historical dramas have always fascinated Indian Cinema lovers, and no one does historicals like director Ashutosh Gowariker.  And now, he is recreating one of the most noteworthy battles of the 18th century – the Third Battle of Panipat in his upcoming film ‘Panipat’. Along with Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon will be seen in the film.

The Third Battle of Panipat took place on January 14, 1761 at Panipat. The battle was fought between the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali.

As today is the anniversary of Panipat, Arjun Kapoor paid a tribute to all the soldiers of Maratha Empire. He shared a video message on Instagram. He said, “Namashkar doston, 250 saal pehle 14 January ko isi aitihaasik din teesri ladaai Panipat ki ladi gai thi, Afghano aur Marathas ke bich. Meri aani vaali fiml jo hai Panipat isi jung ko darshaane jaa rahi hai aur hum ummeed karte hai ke aap sab isse bahut pasand karenge. Me shooting karne jaane vala hun lekin jaane se pehle, me shraddhanjali dena chahunga to all the martyrs and all the men who lost their life in the battle of Panipat.”
