Athiya Shetty-KL Rahul were NOT gifted an apartment, swanky cars as wedding gifts, reveals Suniel Shetty’s spokesperson

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul tied the knot on 23^rd January. It was recently reported that Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul received a luxurious apartment from Suniel Shetty and expensive cars from their friends. But are the reports true? The Shetty family has now released a statement and called the reports ‘baseless’.

When IndianExpress got in touch with Suniel’s spokesperson, he said, “All the reports published about the gifts are absolutely baseless and not true. We request the press fraternity to confirm details with us before publishing such incorrect information in the public domain.”

Earlier, it was reported that Athiya’s father, actor Suniel Shetty gifted his daughter a luxurious apartment in Mumbai worth Rs 50 crore. Reports also claimed that Salman Khan, who had launched Athiya in Bollywood, gifted her an Audi car worth Rs 1.64 crore.

Jackie Shroff, who has worked with Suniel in many films and shares a good bond with him, reportedly gifted the couple a watch worth Rs 30 lakh. Reports also claimed that Arjun Kapoor, who has worked with Athiya, gifted her a diamond bracelet worth Rs 1.5 crore. It was also said that MS Dhoni gave a gift worth Rs 80 lakh whereas Virat Kohli gave a gift worth Rs 2.7 crore to KL Rahul.

Soon after tying the knot, Athiya and KL Rahul had shared their wedding photos on Instagram along with the caption, “In your light, I learn how to love…” Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Suniel shared Athiya-KL Rahul’s wedding photo and wrote, “A hand to hold and a reason to believe because sometimes the right place is a person and the ingredients love and trust… congratulations and God Bless my bachchas @athiyashetty @klrahul.” The actor also shared a few unseen photos from the wedding.
