‘Atrangi Re’: Sona Mohapatra slams age-gap of Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush

Singer Sona Mohapatra is quite vocal on social media and she never minces her words. Whenever she finds any wrong happening in society or in the industry, she doesn’t shy away to speak on the issues. Now, Sona has reacted to the casting of ‘Atrangi Re’, that has Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush. Reports suggest that Sara will be romancing both the actors.

Sona took to her Twitter handle to point out the age gap of the actors and questioned why Priyanka Chopra was subjected to trolls when she married Nick Jonas. Sona tweeted, “Can a 52 year old Madhuri Dixit get cast in a romance opposite a 24 year old young boy any time soon, #India ?I’m okay with this ??but would love a world that would play fair.”

Earlier, on ‘Atrangi Re’, Mumbai Mirror quoted a source saying, “While ‘Atrangi Re’ is primarily a love story set in the heartland, laced with humour, the storytelling is in a zone the filmmaker has not attempted before. The screenplay follows a non-linear narrative of two romances from different timelines running in the parallel.”
